It has only 10,000 residents, 8 kilometers of road and one hospital. It seems like a beautiful tropical paradise but receives less than 2,000 annual visitors each year with most people visiting for business. It was formerly known as the Ellice Islands
5) San Marino

This country which covers only 61 sq kilometers claims to be the oldest sovereign states in the world still to survive.

6) Liechtenstein
The 6th smallest country is completely located in the Alps.

It is the richest country in the world as per the GDP per capita and also has the lowest unemployment rate of any country.

Since Liechtenstein has no airports, you have to visit it through Zurich Airport in Switzerland.
Although it lies between Switzerland and Austria, it is mainly a German-speaking country. Liechenstein covers a area of only 160 sq kilometers.
7) Marshall Islands
A beautiful island country, the Republic Of Marshall Islands is home to an incredible biodiversity.

More than 800 species of fish and 160 kinds of coral call the Marshall Islands their home. It is only 181 sq kilometers and lies between Hawaii and the continent of Australia.
