Traveling for Thanksgiving? Here’s what to expect if you’re driving in Vermont.

Travel conditions in the days leading up to Thanksgiving may not be on the list of things Vermonters are thankful for this year.

In fact, Thanksgiving Day may be the clearest travel day for people driving in Vermont, but it will also be the coldest, according to Meteorologist Robert Deal of the National Weather Service in Burlington.

And even though Vermont is not expecting a large amount of snow, the precipitation expected is still anticipated to hinder travel, according to Todd Law, the State Maintenance Engineer for Vermont’s Transportation Agency.

“It’s going to make things difficult, and with the added traffic, maintenance managers are really making sure that all hands are on deck and everybody’s ready to go,” Law said.
