Top 5 Things to Do While Visiting Boston

Top 5 Things to Do While Visiting Boston
History comes to life as people wander along the streets of Boston with the faint ocean breeze in the air. The city is full of art, music, sports, colleges, and delicious cuisine and everyone wants to experience it all in the time that they are there.
Here are the top 5 things to do while visiting Boston:
1. Walk the Freedom Trail

The easiest way to see a lot of Boston is to walk the Freedom Trail. This trail covers two and a half miles and is marked by a red line on the ground. There are guided tours offered every day, but many people choose to walk it on their own, making stops at each of the sixteen attractions along the way. The popular attractions include the Paul Revere House, Faneuil Hall, USS Constitution, Bunker Hill Monument, Site of the Boston Massacre, and the Granary Burying Ground.

2. New England Aquarium

Harbor seals greet visitors before they even walk in the front doors of the aquarium and the excitement grows even more from there. Inside the four-story aquarium, there are more than one thousand sea creatures swimming around including massive sea turtles and barracuda. No one will want to miss the sea lion shows out back and everyone can touch a shark and sting ray in the touch tanks.

3. Boston Tea Party Ships and Museum

Visitors will spend their time exploring 18th century sailing vessels, artifacts, and interactive exhibits while listening to historical interpreters tell the stories from Boston back in 1773. All the tours take approximately an hour, and everyone will even have an opportunity to dump tea off the ship.

4. John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum

This library and museum is on a ten-acre site that overlooks both the ocean and the city. Guests will step back in time as they see twenty-five exhibits that display the thousand days that President Kennedy spent in office.

5. Boston Public Garden

The Boston Public Garden is right next to Boston Common, and while they are both open spaces, they are quite different. The Public Garden was the first botanical garden in America and there are plenty of fragrant flowers and trees throughout. In the center of the garden is a four-acre pond and many people choose to take a ride in the Swan Boats to see the park from a different perspective.

Boston is a beautiful city to walk around and explore, as there is so much to do and see. People can spend days or weeks in this spectacular city and still not experience everything that they want to, which is why multiple trips will be necessary.
