HANOVER, N.H. (WCAX) There’s a new community center for Jewish students at Dartmouth College.
The $3.2 million Chabad House is located just a few blocks from the Dartmouth Green. The ribbon cutting ceremony Sunday officially opened the doors. It will be a spot for students to eat, study, and relax. Those involved say this will help Jewish students feel more comfortable at the college.
“This is a Jewish home away from home for Jewish students. This is a refuge space, to use the term a safe space. This is a study space this is a celebration space,” said Rabbi Moshe Gray, who acknowledged that there isn’t a large Jewish population at Dartmouth, but says they are active in the community and he hopes that the new space will encourage more to visit the campus.
