The Adriatic Sea has a haunting voice when channeled through the sea organ designed by Croatian architect Nikola Bašić. Nikola designed the 230-foot long morse orgulje in 2005. The organ is built into stone steps with openings that allow the waves to flow through chambers and create music. As the waves ebb and flow, air is pushed through the inner channels at the bottom of the stairs and out the upper whistle-holes that play sweet-sounding tunes. This makes for a harmonious alliance between man and nature.
The sea organ is located in Zadar, Croatia, an area that has vast natural beauty. Be sure to visit the 3,000 year old city and hear the melodic sounds of the sea for yourself.
